Well, it
seems the heavy fine levied upon MTN recently by NCC that even caused their CEO
resign has started yielding some good dividends in using MTN network currently.
Unlike
before when MTN will criminally start deducting from your airtime without you
knowing when any of your data subscription gets exhausted, but right now, such
fraudulent practice is gradually coming to an end after NCC hand them the fine
of their live.
I have also
wondered in the past, if MTN and other network providers cannot just develop a
means not to deduct airtime from your credit balance after ones data subscription
expires unknowingly during browsing.
Such act has
been one of the ways those GSM network providers have been using in the past to
highly short-change their customers but we are beginning to receive some breath
of fresh air as NCC has come out hard on them this time around and they have
started complying with immediate effect.
Right now,
on most of the networks, including MTN, you have nothing to fear again if you
subscribe to any internet data plan and still have credit balance on that line;
what happens now is that when your data subscription expires even without you
knowing, only the browsing stops and your airtime balance is save.
For example
now, you can be subscribing for MTN 5MB for N5 continuously and at interval
without getting your airtime deducted when you exhaust the 5MB.
I think
these network providers are beginning to receive some senses and which is
highly commendable.
Have you
noticed this too?
